Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has presented a N1.05 trillion budget proposal for 2025 to the State House of Assembly. Dubbed the “Budget of Hope and Prosperity,” the plan emphasizes infrastructure, healthcare, education, and sustainable development.
The budget includes N453.56 billion for recurrent expenditure and N600.98 billion for capital projects, showcasing the administration’s focus on transformational initiatives.
Key Allocations
- Personnel Costs: N120.1 billion
- Consolidated Revenue Costs: N37.49 billion
- Public Debt Charges: N76.07 billion
- Overhead Costs: N219.86 billion
Major Projects
- Renovation and equipping of hospitals and 80 primary health centres.
- Rehabilitation and construction of roads across the state.
- Extension of Metro Rail lines, including the Redline (Agbado-Kajola), Blueline (Okokomaiko-Agbara/Lusada), and Purpleline.
- Construction of the Ogun Lodge in Abuja, OGIRS Revenue House, and a modern Court of Appeal.
- Rehabilitation of 150 kilometres of feeder roads and construction of fire stations.

- Internally Generated Revenue (IGR): N314.82 billion (N120.97 billion from the State IRS and N193.85 billion from MDAs).
- Federal Allocations & VAT: N228.06 billion.
- Capital Receipts, Loans, and Grants: N472.66 billion.

Governor Abiodun highlighted the state’s 79% revenue target achievement in 2024 as evidence of fiscal discipline and transparency.
The 2025 budget prioritizes the completion of ongoing projects under the ISEYA development pillars and aligns with the Medium-Term National Development Plan (2021-2025) to enhance prosperity for Ogun residents.
This budget reaffirms the administration’s commitment to building a future of sustainable growth and development for the state.
