The Lead Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Center (HICC), Pastor Bolaji Idowu, has strongly denied recent allegations of fraud and money laundering involving N1.5 billion.
Speaking during the “Next Level Prayers” session on Wednesday, Pastor Idowu addressed claims circulating on social media that he is under investigation by the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) of the Nigerian Police.
“Over the last 24 hours, there’s been a lot of news about me on social media. I just want to state some facts clearly,” he said, firmly maintaining his innocence.
Denial of Real Estate Involvement
The pastor categorically denied any involvement in real estate transactions, a central claim in the allegations. “I do not have any property in Nigeria apart from the one bequeathed to me by my late parents. I am not in the business of buying or selling properties,” he stated.
He also dismissed claims of receiving large sums of money. “Someone said I received billions into my account. My account is public; anyone can check if I have ever received such amounts. I did not.”
Investigation Ongoing
Pastor Idowu refrained from discussing details of the ongoing investigation but expressed gratitude for the support he has received from his congregation and followers. “I want to thank all of you who showed a lot of love. We are victorious,” he said confidently, adding, “As you are reading it, I’m also reading it, like wow.”
He challenged anyone with concrete evidence against him to present it, reiterating his innocence.
Allegations Stir Speculation
Reports from People Gazette confirm that Pastor Idowu is currently being questioned by the FCID in Abuja over alleged fraudulent real estate activities and money laundering. A senior police source stated, “Pastor Bolaji Idowu, popularly known as the ‘Next-Level Prayer Conference’ pastor, is under investigation for alleged fraudulent real estate activities and money laundering.”
Another source confirmed, “He is at the FCID Abuja as we speak.”
A Growing Global Ministry
Pastor Idowu, who founded HICC in December 2003, has led its growth into a global ministry with branches in Nigeria, the UK, and the US. His “Next Level Prayers” platform has gained international recognition for its emphasis on deepening spiritual life.
While the allegations have raised concerns among HICC’s large congregation of over 70,000 worshippers, the investigation is ongoing, and formal statements from the police and Pastor Idowu’s representatives are still awaited.
